Excel dashboards are the answer to everything. Or are they really?

Excel dashboards

You wanna know how to create the best, slickest Excel dashboards possible. That’s most likely what brought you to conduct this search in the first place. You were probably hoping to land upon a page in the likes of this one, weren’t you?

Makes sense; Excel is pretty much the first marketing reporting tool that comes to mind. After all, it is all about data, graphs, and charts, and it does provide quite a few features to help you through your tedious reporting task.

However, it doesn’t matter how early you wake up, how much black coffee you ingest, or how motivated (or not) you are, there always seems to be so much data and so little time to complete your reports, as opposed to your colleague Steve. We all know a Steve, don’t we? While you’re pouring your heart into these never-ending spreadsheets, he’s the last one at the office, the first one to leave, and yet the most praised marketer at the agency. Steve is awesome and happy and fit and you just hate his guts, don’t you? What in the world is Steve’s secret to living such an amazing life?

Words have always been a part of Alexandra’s life, and it’s a good thing she loves them so much because there isn’t really anything she’s as good at (besides some serious Eminem imitation skills, that is). A screenwriter and published novelist, the next logical step for her to take was without a doubt content writing for DashThis, and she welcomes the new challenge with open arms.

The 4 Features That Made Me Love The New AdWords Interface

November 27th, 2017 — 3:35pm

Adwords Interface Features

For the past few months, like thousands of other advertisers, I’ve been able to try the new AdWords interface in its beta form. And like probably a bunch of these same advertisers, I was skeptical to click on the “Try the new AdWords BETA” button. I gave it a try for a few days, but I quickly came back to my good old “classic” AdWords.

To be honest, I really didn’t like the new AdWords interface. At first.

Why would they change a tool that’s always been easy to use in the first place? Why, dear Google, do you want to make my life more difficult by making me re-adapt myself to a new layout? Why are there so many “expanding 3-dot menus”? Am I ready to make major changes in my campaigns using an unfamiliar platform?

Client Report Templates: Get Your Clients to Keep Coming Back

June 7th, 2017 — 9:59am

What’s the most important part of a relationship?

Ugh, that sounds so cliché, right?

It is cliché… but then again… so are a lot of truths.

And I’m not just talking about personal relationships: all relationships require good communication if they’re going to be sustainable over a long period of time.

But what does any of this have to do with digital marketing?

Well, everything.

The work of a digital marketer is built on relationships. As a marketer, your job is to initiate a relationship with your clients, and through your work, make them as happy as possible in order to keep them with you for the long-term.

Because let’s face it: it’s way more fun working with the same client for a long time than always looking for new clients and new contracts.

On the one hand, you get to work with someone you know well, someone who trusts you. On the other hand, you have to constantly be on the hunt, and always work that much harder just to get your foot in a prospect’s door (never knowing if the hunt is going to pay off in the end).

Obviously, one is easier and far more profitable than the other…

And therein lies the importance of a kick-a** client report template.
