Get Social Data using Google Analytics Channel Grouping

One thing that has been bugging our users is the lack of “social” medium in Google Analytics. Fortunately for them, Google Analytics API team frequently updates their tool. They recently release a new dimension called Channel Grouping (ga:channelGrouping) which represent the view “Channel” in your Google Analytics account.

This metric has now been added to DashThis and is available from the Advanced Editor.

Note that you can also create a filter on this dimension to get, for example, the number of visits for the channel “social”:

» Add Google Analytics Social medium unique channel grouping to your dashboards
