How to Create Custom Google Analytics Calculated Metrics

Google Analytics calculated metrics

It’s not uncommon at all that a web analyst need a particular calculated metric that doesn’t in Google Analytics. For example, a KPI that would display the number of non-branded keywords that generated a visit.

Or the number of unique events divided by the number of iPhone 5 visitors to create a custom calculated metric named “iPhone 5 events rate”.

How can you do that?

Since this data is not available via the google analytics API, we suggest using the simple number widget or the CSV import feature to upload the data in DashThis.

If you have any questions about our CSV file manager or the simple number widget, please contact us, we'll be happy to help you with the matter.

We really hope google will integrate the calculated metrics in their API soon!
