I’ve seen that really often. A manager telling me visits on their website are increasing and they are satisfied with their new website.
Really? If so, why not just put a funny poster on the door of your store to tell visitors to come in?
It’s a non-sense, right? Of course, you don’t want anyone to come in your store. You want people interested by what you sell to come into your store.

It seems that 55% of physical visitors in a store left without buying anything. On the web, this rate drops below 2%. (A Web analytics firm even named itself after this idea)
So you’re happy with 1000 or even 1 000 000 visitors, but would you still be that happy knowing many of them are worthless passer-bys?
You might want to drill down a bit into your web analytics. Doing so, you might find all sorts of surprises as well as valuable and strategic information. And this is only to help you grow your online business.
Remember that your website isn’t just a big poster, but is an interactive sale channel that could drive a lot of business to your company.
