Add Adwords Video Campaigns to Your Dashboard

We, and a lot of other users, have been asking Google Adwords to make Video Campaigns stats available from their API. No luck so far. However, we noticed Google Analytics API just released a new dimension called “IsTrueViewVideoAd”.

While you might think it’s not the “real” thing since you might have some discrepancies between Google Analytics and Adwords, you must admit that’s quite a great alternative. Better than nothing, isn’t it?

How do you add Adwords Video Campaigns to your dashboard?

First off, for accurate data in Google Analytics, you must use auto-tagging with your TrueView video ad campaigns.

Then, from the advanced editor

Simply use this filter

ga:isTrueViewVideoAd==Yes
